Woods Stockfeeds Pty Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to complete hands-on activities to fabricate, assemble, erect, test, maintain and repair equipment and components in line with industry best practice, company standards, policies and procedures.
Key duties include:
* Review instructions, technical drawings and blueprints to ensure specifications and procedures are followed and objectives are met
* Plan, produce and assemble new or modified mechanical parts for industrial machinery and equipment
* Evaluate engineering designs for constructability and help develop practical construction solutions and plans
* Carry out erection, mechanical commissioning and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment
* Set up and conduct tests on complete units and components and record results accurately
* Analyse risks within construction activities to help ensure work is completed safely and meets environmental and quality requirements
* Develop and implement mechanical maintenance plans to minimise costly equipment breakdowns
* Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns and perform repairs
* Optimise mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
* Document processes and maintain mechanical service records
* Install and perform diagnostic tests on mechanical systems
To be considered, you will need:
* An associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, or a similar qualification
* At least 2 years’ experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry
* Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance and repairs
* Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostic testing software
* Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Good communication and collaboration skills
* Sound organisational and time management skills
* Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside normal business hours when required
