Position Overview
Assistant-Active Living (Willowview Centre) – Permanent Part‐time, 5 hours a week on Thursdays.
Band 3 – $66,391.90 pro‐rated salary plus superannuation.
Location: Collingwood, Yarra City Council – Ageing, Equity and Community Development (AECD) branch.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in creating and implementing culturally sensitive activities to support the physical, intellectual, psychological and social wellbeing of Centre participants.
* Prepare the Centre for morning activities, and clean up and pack down at the end of the day.
* Support clients in participating in program activities and encourage social interaction.
* Assist with client safety and wellbeing, including facilitating safe movements in and around the Centre and providing personal care support when required.
* Prepare meals, record food safety, and adhere to safety standards.
* Maintain efficient administration and organisational systems for client attendance and note‐entry.
* Ensure client records comply with privacy principles.
Requirements
* High level of cultural competency and experience engaging with people from cross‐cultural communities.
* Basic ability to communicate with Italian‐speaking clients is an advantage but not required.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Commitment to a child‐safe working environment and suitability for Police Check, Working with Children Check, and relevant medical assessment.
