About the role:
Your role as the Installation Technical Advisor - Electrical will see you supervise and mentor between installation subcontractors and GE engineering the installation of wind turbine generators, trouble shoot and provide technical advice and report on and resolve defect and technical queries. You will be someone who is proficient in fault finding electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
Based in Wellington NSW, the Uungala Wind farm Construction Project
FIFO/DIDO from anywhere in Australia
Working on a 3:1 roster Monday to Saturday
Flights & accommodation and vehicle included plus daily allowance.
Contract length is 12 months initially with potential to extend beyond
February onward start date
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Installation Leads, Technical Advisors, and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
* Coordinate logistics, equipment, and resources for turbine installation.
* Conduct pre-installation site assessments and propose solutions to optimize procedures.
* Provide technical guidance to subcontractors on assembly and installation of wind turbine components.
* Perform quality checks and inspections during and after installation.
* Troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively.
* Ensure strict compliance with GE safety standards and protocols.
* Document installation activities, deviations, and technical challenges using GE software tools.
* Manage non-conformance reporting (NCR) and quality documentation.
* Oversee installation equipment and tooling on-site, including return coordination.
* Deliver hands-on training to subcontractors on bespoke lifting equipment and turbine technology
* Ensure adherence to EHS procedures and policy and help to enforce throughout
Qualifications and Certifications
- A Grade Electrical Licence - NSW (or mutual recognition)
- GWO industry Basic Safety Training and GWO Advanced Rescue Training. This training and refreshers can be arranged.
- White Card
- Current Driver's license essential
- Australian work rights are required for this role
About You
* Demonstrated supervisory experience in wind turbine installation, construction, or related technical field desirable.
* Must have installation experience with any wind turbine equipment or technologies.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
* Safety-conscious mindset with knowledge of industry safety regulations.
* Intermediate computer skills (MS Office).
