PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Manage a small team to ensure the power system protection systems for Power and Water’s diverse range of assets meet required performance
and risk standards in terms of people and asset safety. The primary focus is the asset management including design and operation of protection
systems across the Northern Territory’s Transmission and Distribution systems, as well as generation in remote centres.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
* Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of protection system asset management strategies through the design, commissioning,
and ongoing maintenance lifecycle of protection assets.
* Regularly review existing protection system performance to ensure the risks associated with changes to the power system are managed and
protection reliability improved.
* Investigate major system disruptions and make recommendations to improve the system to minimise risk exposure.
* Define the deliverables of the ongoing protection replacement, upgrade, and maintenance programs to achieve a balance between cost, risk,
and performance.
* Develop and Manage asset investment plans (capex, repair, and maintenance), project plans and costing for implementation of business
initiatives.
* Support, promote and performance manage employees to achieve business plan initiatives and department performance standards.
