Core Responsibilities
* Design and evolve platforms: develop and maintain reusable infrastructure, templates, and tooling that support application deployment, observability, and operational resilience.
* Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.
* Collaborate with product teams: partner with internal and third‐party engineers to co‐design and operate platforms that improve delivery velocity, quality, and safety.
* Participate in on‐call rotations and incident response workflows to maintain availability of critical services.
* Influence and direct engineering practices across vendor teams to align with the bank's standards and pursue automation, observability, and governance practices.
* Engage in cross‐functional governance forums such as Change, Risk & Security, and Service Management to ensure alignment with engineering and operational standards.
* Oversee blended responsibilities with SRE, data and systems engineering, especially in observability, DevOps integration, and service reliability.
* Drive continuous improvement: perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis, and identify opportunities for enhancement.
We're interested in hearing from people who
* Have proven experience working with engineering and operational teams, especially cloud data‐engineering platforms.
* Have proven experience in operational engagements required to bring a product to life (e.g., Risk, Security, Incident, Change, Problem, Monitoring, Supplier Governance, Defect Review, Scalability, Automation).
* Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Have a problem‐solving mindset with a focus on automation and continuous process improvement.
* Exhibit a proactive approach, constantly seeking innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
* Offer mentorship to junior engineers, contributing effectively both as an individual and as part of a team.
Tech Skills
* Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi.
* Experience developing and/or deploying containerised applications.
* Experience programming in Golang, C#, or Python.
* Experience with core AWS services (IAM, VPC, EC2, ASG, etc.).
* Experience with container technology, Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS.
* Experience with source control and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and Jenkins.
* Experience integrating platforms with enterprise systems using cloud integration patterns (AWS PrivateLink, API Gateway, direct S3 access).
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Observe, Prometheus, Grafana, and AppDynamics.
* Understanding of DevSecOps/SRE best practices.
* Advanced knowledge of Linux core and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* AWS Architect certified.
* Experience in the financial domain is a plus.
* Experience with application development (.NET, Java, Python) is a plus.
