The opportunity is for an Estimator to support the estimating function through effective management of Downer's estimating and validation of WIP and cost to complete validation on Water projects for the Energy & Utilities business unit. The successful applicant can envision themselves attending to duties such as:
What you'll do
* Prepare Electrical, Communications, Security work to be estimated based on the requirements of the tender submission and/or simultaneous development of a complex range of small and large TOCs and project budget estimates across the Program works program
* Identify, develop, review and maintain current costs for labour, materials, rates and time requirements for tender submission and/or for the Project of approved Norms and update database accordingly
* Maintain an approved estimating package and database
* Review bids against actual project performance to refine future proposals.
* Develop and review subcontractor RFT packages.
* Review and analyse project risk, opportunity and contingency allowances
* Prepare first principles estimates and present cost estimates to management at varying levels of design certainty
* Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

What we're looking for
* Electrical Tertiary or trade qualification (Desirable)
* Experience in AutoCAD 2D preferred.
* Well-developed organisational skills - including written and oral communication
* Commercial skills and understanding of financial administration and project costing
* The ability to work well within a team as well as on sole-charge work
