With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enriching health, and develop your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.

Achieve Something Great

Step into a vital and highly specialised role where your expertise can make a profound and lasting difference. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in the Sexual Assault Service, you will provide holistic, trauma informed, culturally responsive and patient centred forensic and medical care to people aged 14 years and over. Working within a multidisciplinary and multi agency framework, including NSW Police, the Department of Communities and Justice and key support services, you will deliver comprehensive medical, forensic and psychosocial care during some of the most critical moments in a person's life. This role is an important part of SWSLHD's commitment to Leading Care and building healthier and safer communities.

Are You the Right Fit?

You may be the right fit if you are an experienced and confident clinician with advanced assessment skills, strong clinical judgement and a compassionate approach to care. You'll bring senior nursing leadership to a specialised service where extended clinical autonomy is both supported and essential. If you value multidisciplinary teamwork, collaborate effectively across agencies, and are committed to delivering trauma‐informed and culturally safe care, you will feel at home in this role. We're looking for someone who aligns with the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, is passionate about supporting vulnerable communities, and is motivated to contribute to high‐quality forensic, medical and psychosocial care—while helping shape specialist practice and service development.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

1. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with relevant post registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.

2. Describe your experience providing trauma informed clinical care and working with people affected by sexual assault or other forms of violence. In your answer, outline how you manage clinical responsibilities, work within a multidisciplinary setting, and maintain professional and ethical standards.

3. Outline how you identify and respond to risk in situations involving domestic, family or sexual violence. Include how you work with other services, communicate effectively within a team, and maintain your clinical skills and professional development.

4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
