OPERATIONS ORGANISATIONQUALITYGRADE 7PURPOSE OF JOB
Based at our Osbourne Naval Shipyard Offices, in this newly created role you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed across the business area.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Direct, mentor and support quality team members ensuring compliance to production specification and standards.
* Direct liaison with the Naval Construction Branch's (NCB) representatives and ensuring all required hold points and other verification activities are satisfied.
* Lead the identification and implementation of quality improvement activities agreed with the business area.
* Coordinate stakeholders to ensure quality has an effective input to total performance.
* Investigate the deployment of Basic Benchmarking techniques as a way of achieving comparisons and improvements in product/service delivery, documentation, processes, organisational culture, customer communication and satisfaction.
* Act as a quality mentor by providing advice and assistance to the project team and junior quality staff.
* Contribute to the improvement of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) by raising improvement proposals.
* Assess and approve suppliers and sub-contractors that provide product and services.
* Ensure an appropriate audit schedule has been developed and executed for the project, managing product and process non-conformances to a satisfactory resolution.
KEY CRITERIA
* Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
* Ability to develop robust negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Tertiary degree qualification (preferred).
* Formal Quality Qualifications or a Diploma of Quality Management (preferred).
* Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering role.
* Sound understanding of Quality Standards ISO9001, Military Standards, configuration management, and verification and validation (preferred).
* Systems quality assurance experience throughout the product lifecycle.
* Advanced MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Internal / Lead Auditor (preferred).
