A privately owned practice in Kununurra is looking for a full time general practitioner (GP). If you are interested Aboriginal health, 20 percent of the patients are Aboriginal and this could the job you are seeking.

The Practice
Make a difference by working for an Aboriginal social enterprise, led by a local Aboriginal principal GP, where practice proceeds go back into local community development. The practice provides a broad scope of medical and nursing services such as skin checks and procedures, industrial medicine, chronic disease management, pre-employment medicals, shared antenatal care, women’s health, men’s health and palliative care support. The practice is experienced in dealing with unusual conditions like melioidosis and rheumatic heart disease. They also provide a walk-in service for minor injuries and general illnesses such as the ’Flu’ including first aid, sexual health screening, spirometry and immunisations.
It is a chance for you to do what you enjoy doing in general practice as well as learning new skills.
The parent organisation looks at programs around social determinants of health including education, employment, housing, driver training and financial literacy.
The Requirements
Admitting rights to the local hospital can be applied for, nursing home visits and home visits can be participated in.
The Package
Remuneration: 65% billings - $180,000-$270,000.
No superannuation.
Accommodation: Housing allowance provided.
Agreement: Independent contractor arrangement.
