The Role:
You will be responsible for optimising and managing our assets and portfolio within the spot physical markets. This includes executing effective short-term trading and commercial strategies, as well as managing commodity market risk exposures. Additionally, you will oversee the real-time and day-ahead power and gas positions to ensure optimal performance and risk management.
About You:
* Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other relevant area.
* Experience across generation, gas and retail business commercial operations, relating to a physical spot market, preferably in Australia.
* Thorough understanding of power and gas system operations.
* Excellent communication skills, effective time management and prioritisation skills.
* Intermediate to Advanced IT competency e.g., MS Excel and typical energy market trading systems.
* Strong analytical skills – ability to create models and analyse data in order to reinforce commercial decisions and understand market conditions.
* Ability to analyse problems and identify appropriate and effective solutions in pressurised situations.
