Senior Paraplanner
Complex Advice | Leadership Pathway | Boutique Practice
Geelong | Full-Time | Office-Based
We're a boutique, advice-led financial planning practice with a strong focus on quality, strategy and doing things properly.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner who enjoys working on thoughtful, complex advice, takes pride in high standards, and is ready to step into a role with real influence — not just document production.
This role offers scope to lead, mentor, and contribute to compliance and Responsible Manager functions as the practice continues to grow.
The Opportunity
You'll work closely with advisers to bring strategies to life, across a wide range of client scenarios — from straightforward to technically complex. Beyond paraplanning, you'll play a key role in maintaining advice quality, supporting compliance, and guiding other paraplanners.
This role suits someone who values autonomy, trust and professional judgement, and who wants to be part of a close-knit, high-performing team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Preparing high-quality SOAs and ROAs, including complex strategies
* Working across SMSFs, trusts, managed accounts and sophisticated advice structures
* Strategy modelling using Xplan, Xtools and Xplan Modelling
* Conducting research using ProductRex and Risk Researcher
* Reviewing and quality-checking advice prepared by other paraplanners
* Supporting compliance activities such as file reviews and audits
* Assisting the Compliance Function and Responsible Managers with AFSL obligations
* Contributing to continuous improvement of templates, workflows and advice standards
About You
* 2+ years' experience in an intermediate to advanced paraplanning role
* Strong experience with complex advice, including SMSFs and trusts
* Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable working independently
* Confident with strategy and able to think beyond templates
* Experience with managed accounts / SMAs (highly regarded)
* Experience in a self-licensed environment (desirable, not essential)
* Interested in leadership, mentoring and compliance responsibilities
Why Join Us?
* Work on genuinely strategic, high-quality advice
* Be part of a boutique, values-driven practice
* Opportunity to grow into leadership, compliance or Responsible Manager responsibilities
* Supportive, professional environment with high standards
* Stable, full-time role based in Geelong
