**Role Overview**
This position supports Council's direction by undertaking a wide range of multi tasks in relation to its Fleet and Maintenance Operations. Planning and scheduling of workload and interaction with internal customers and stakeholders. The role reports to the Workshop Supervisor and ensures that;
- Tasks and instructions are carried out and completed as directed.
- Plant and Equipment are maintained to a required standard as necessary as possible.
- Undertake work at locations requested both within and outside the Gympie Region
**What we are looking for**:
- Provide a leading role to ensure Council's plant and equipment is maintained to both the manufacturers and GRC standards and that all plant and equipment availability is maximized by swift R&M practices
- Effectively lead and assist in the safe, efficient and effective operations of Council's Workshop, including ensuring all plant has written maintenance/servicing instructions and upgrade as necessary in conjunction with the Workshop Coordinator.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Fleet and Depot Operations Branch.
- Carryout, Coordinate and manage COI and AIS inspections and history recording.
- Assist in the registration of equipment.
**Essential Knowledge & Skills**:
- Fault diagnostic skills including machine management software operations
- Proven experience in the servicing and maintenance of a variety of plant and equipment
- Program services and repairs times with appropriate person
- General maintenance procedures of a wide range of plant and equipment
**Essential Requirements**:
- Queensland 'HR Class driver's licence current and maintained.
- Construction Industry White/Blue card.
- Forklift Ticket.
- Diesel Fitter or Motor Mechanic or equivalent Trade Qualifications.
**Desirable Requirements**:
- Previous Leading Hand experience would be an advantage.
- Ability to work within a specialised team.
- Automotive Air Conditioning experience and or qualifications would be an advantage.
- COI accreditation
- AUR31116. Cert III in Heavy commercial vehicle mechanical technology
- Basic computer skills would be an advantage.
