The Role
Looking for real scope, real impact, and real community connection? We are looking for suitably qualified GPs to take up roles with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Far West NSW, at a variety of outreach locations.
Join the RFDS and practise medicine where it truly matters. This is a genuine rural generalist opportunity offering clinical variety, procedural exposure, and the chance to make a lasting difference.
This is not a standard clinic role. You'll see diverse presentations, build continuity with remote patients, and become part of the communities you serve. You will fly in and out via aircraft or use road travel for drive-in clinics.
You will have support from a number of multidisciplinary team members including flight nurses, medical officers, pilots and the executive team along with fully equipped facilities.
Rostering
Available cycles in the form of:
* 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
* 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off
* month on/ month off
Happy to discuss models with candidates but looking for continuity to ensure patient stability and team cohesion.
The Package
As a GP you may elect to be paid via:
* a salary package ($211,927 to $296,805), or
* percentage-based remuneration (70% billings earning typically $2,000 to $2,500 per day)
Benefits include:
* $30,000 per year housing allowance, paid fortnightly, for the full duration of employment
* Car allowance, will be built into the package, ongoing
* Visa nomination, lawyer fees, government visa fees, medicals, registration and police check fees covered
All suitably qualified GPs, including international GPs are welcome to apply.
International applicants must be eligible via AHPRA's Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway. Further information can be found via the following link https://www.medicalboard.gov.au/Registration/International-Medical-Graduates/Specialist-Pathway.aspx#
