Job Summary
Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services at Liverpool Hospital is seeking a highly experienced senior nurse to fill a Grade 7 Nurse Manager position within the Nursing & Midwifery leadership team.
Responsibilities
* Report to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services and lead operational leadership of a large, complex clinical portfolio including Surgery, Cardiology, Cardiothoracics, Renal, Gastroenterology and Medical Imaging.
* Lead day‐to‐day operational performance across the portfolio, ensuring safe, high‐quality, person‐centred care, with a focus on patient flow and access.
* Contribute to service planning and evidence‐based models of care, supporting continuous improvement and innovation across the portfolio.
* Use data to inform decisions, monitor performance and drive accountability across services.
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams and leaders to implement demand‐management strategies and service improvement initiatives.
* Represent the nursing service in internal and external forums.
Qualifications & Selection Criteria
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Attach AHPRA registration.
* Senior nursing experience leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
* Experience managing complex HR and industrial matters, communication and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to ensure safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.
* Understanding of contemporary issues impacting patient flow and capacity; able to engage teams in demand‐management strategies.
* Effective communication and engagement with patients, carers, multidisciplinary health team; ability to represent nursing service in a range of forums.
* Personal and professional conflict and performance issue management.
* Participation in organisational change, risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement.
* Motivated strengths‐based leader with resilience, sound judgement, and capacity to influence change.
* Approachable, supportive leadership style building capability in others, especially Nurse Unit Managers and emerging leaders.
* Commitment to delivering person‐centred, safe, equitable care and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence.
Remuneration & Benefits
* Annual salary: $193,431.18 – $196,311.43 per annum.
