Responsibilities Lead end-to-end management all of the Foundation’s finances including budgeting and financial forecasting processes across all income sources, including working closely with Atlassian Treasury to manage the Foundation’s financial commitments. Working closely with Australian Philanthropic Services to track the Foundation’s giving and inform our quarterly and annual stats and financial distribution requirements. Working closely with AFFIC & AFILFIC (the Foundation’s finance & investment committees) to operationalise our Trading Plan, Investing Policy and Impact Investing Guidelines, including working with Australian Impact Investments. Partner with the Foundation team to develop forecasts and ensure spending in accordance with budgets, while building deep business partner relationships across the Foundation to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements. Manage and monitor performance across all our investments, including management of the Foundation’s impact investment pipeline. Manage financial reporting, including regular management reports – analysing financial results, distilling/synthesising key trends, and communicating insights to Foundation leadership. Lead the Foundation’s month-end close, including reviewing accruals and presenting monthly variance analysis. Assess and reflect current quarter performance through the monthly outlook process and work closely with FP&A to provide commentary for leadership. Proactively highlight opportunities for process improvements. Oversee finance admin tasks, and step in to run these tasks when needed. Provide ad-hoc guidance to stakeholders and analyses for strategic projects. On your first day, we'll expect you to have: Quantitative Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics) Minimum 6 years of Finance or Accounting work experience including planning and budgeting processes, financial forecasting, interpreting and reporting business performance results Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and presentation development Strong technical fundamentals such as spreadsheets (e.g., Google Sheets, MS Excel) and exposure to planning tools (Anaplan) and data/finance systems (Netsuite) Qualitative Strategic partnership skills to make assessments, inform decision making and contribute to strategy regarding effective financial management Comfort influencing leaders to ensure financial decisions and operational improvements are focused on maximising the impact of each dollar invested Curiosity to learn and take initiative to solve problems independently Ability to prioritise objectives in an ambiguous environment to ensure key deliverables are met in a timely manner Attention to detail and follow-through A team player approach who can also self-initiate An impeccable work ethic with a “get-it-done” attitude Strong critical thinking, organisational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Efficiency managing tasks that require collaboration with stakeholders in different time zones Nice to have Experience working with a philanthropic function and understanding of DGR structures Experience working with impact investments and investment management reporting Exposure to procurement platforms (e.g. Coupa) and Business Insights tools/dashboards (e.g. Tableau) Experience in technology or software / SaaS industry More about Atlassian Foundation Atlassian has a business model, with a focus on growth and profitability, that is rare among its growth technology peers.
