We design, manufacture, and install modular buildings for education, affordable housing, mining, custodial and commercial sectors across all mainland Australian states. **About the role**:
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the National Transport Manager of Fleetwood Building Solutions will enjoy a busy, hands-on role that provides the delivery of leadership and technical knowledge for the safe and efficient running of Fleetwood's overall transportation functions. In this position you will work closely with each of our manufacturing facilities ensuring our transportation safety and compliance is implemented, delivered, & maintained. Whilst continuing to develop best practice for our transport function in the future. This position forms a pivotal part in our strategy to build, transform & grow.
This position will be based out of our Smithfield facility in NSW.
**The key responsibilities of the role are to**:
**Heavy Vehicle Management**
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Fleetwood's' compliance to the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (COR) and all state and federal road regulations
- Manage, monitor, and maintain daily transport operating & administrative functions to achieve maximum utilization of resources
- Manage, monitor, and maintain transport compliance documentation including policies, procedures, manuals, SWMS & SOPs
- Monitoring, reviewing, and assessing driver documents such as daily logbooks, load sheets, checklists, work diaries etc.
- Ensuring driver vehicle documentation is up to date and available in all vehicles such as permits and licences
- Monitoring, reviewing, and analysing truck efficiencies (truck utilisation, tyre wear, fuel usage etc.)
- Organising, monitoring, and updating subcontractor agreements and documentation to ensure COR compliance and optimised commercial outcomes.
- Complete regular and effective internal audits relating to transport processes.
- Preparing/attending/conducting prestart meetings as required
- Preparing/attending/conducting toolbox talks as required
**Fleet management**
- Effective management of the Fleetwood Group transport fleet including heavy & site vehicles
- Coordinate the ordering, receiving, and distribution of new vehicles, purchase of vehicles, employee vehicle sales and vehicle disposal, negotiating with external stakeholders
- Maintain group fleet registration and insurance records
- Monitor fleet and computer costs providing management reports as required
- Enforce company policies governing appropriate use of fleet vehicles
- Accountable for maintenance of all relevant documentation required to meet and/or exceed local, state, federal, customer requirements.
- Develop strategy for vehicle investment and divestment, and associated business cases to implement this strategy.
**Personnel Management**
- Lead, manage & motivate the transport team to achieve operational targets & objectives
- Manage rostering of employees to ensure skills and cost efficiencies are considered
- Actively participate in recruiting and onboarding new employees in partnership with the Talent Acquisition & HR teams
- Effectively manage performance issues in accordance with Fleetwood's policies
- Develop relevant training, development, and mentoring of employees as required to achieve required safety and commercial outcomes in the business.
**About You**:
Your exceptional leadership capability will enable you to deliver high quality outcomes & results. You will be analytical and collaborative in your approach, your extensive experience and sound knowledge of compliance and safety within the transport sector will be imperative to your success in this position. The successful applicant will hold at least 5 year's experience in Fleet/Transport management and have fantastic communication skills, enabling them to work with a range of stakeholders within the Fleetwood business.

- Extensive experience and sound knowledge of Compliance and WHS within Transport
- Minimum 5 years management experience in Fleet Management, with the ability to manage a team at all levels
