Summary
Responsible for determining if samples and request forms are appropriate for analysis and perform a referral role dispatching samples nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities
* Determine the suitability of samples and request forms for analysis.
* Maintain accurate specimen records and data entry in the laboratory system.
* Coordinate referral and dispatch of samples to national and international laboratories.
* Operate as the sole technician on out‐of‐hours roster when required.
* Apply standard operating procedures and maintain focus and accuracy in a fast‐paced environment.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in specimen reception and data entry functions within a diagnostic laboratory environment.
* Associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work.
* Knowledge and expertise consistent with qualifications recognised at Certificate III and IV or equivalent level.
* Eligibility for State Service Act 2000, Section 37 provision (relevant training and/or experience).
Remuneration and Benefits
* Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (inclusive of 12 % superannuation).
* Salary packaging – living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
