Our Leadership Team for **** comprises 1 Principal, 2 Assistant Principals and 5 Learning Specialists (Literacy, Numeracy, Junior Years and Senior Years). The teaching team includes 62 teaching staff and 31 ES staff (admin, maintenance, learning support and Business Manager) who serve 625 students from Year 7–12.
Selection Criteria
SC1
– Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, and experience in responding to student learning needs.
SC2
– Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of teaching programs on student growth.
SC3
– Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice, and providing feedback to students and parents.
SC4
– Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5
– Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, and experience in reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – Range 1 and Range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes, and on critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge, skills and engagement. Teachers may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to their salary range, qualifications, training and experience.
Range 2
Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to school policies and priorities, and enhancing staff knowledge of high-quality instruction. Responsibilities include:
Providing content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet diverse student needs.
Modeling exemplary classroom practice and mentoring other teachers in critical reflection.
Offering expert advice on content, processes and strategies that shape professional learning.
Supervising and training student teachers.
Assisting staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches to meet improvement targets.
Range 1
Range 1 teachers operate under general direction to effectively deliver programs, support policy development, and may supervise student teachers. They receive structured support, mentoring, and guidance, and are expected to plan and teach in one or more subjects while participating in induction programs and other professional learning activities.
Responsibilities
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs.
Undertaking other teaching-related and organisational duties as directed by the School Principal.
Participating in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
Performing non-teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Registered teachers or those eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, who are qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Qualification Requirements
Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
For **** graduates, completion of a postgraduate-level initial teacher education program accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority in accordance with Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership standards.
For graduates from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education programme after 1 July ****, completion of the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) is required (if part of the programme).
