About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Thrift Shop Manager! You will lead operations of the store ensuring quality customer service, diligence in banking, quality sorting of donated goods and maintaining general upkeep of the shop.
Responsibilities Include
Recruit and train new volunteersEnsure timely management of pick-ups and deliveries of household furnitureDelegate responsibility for collection to volunteers or manage collections during normal working hoursUpdate merchandise and mannequins at least weekly or as requiredCash handling – cash and credit card transactions, end of day reconciliation and bankingGreet all customers in a warm and inviting manner. Offer assistance and advice on selections. Encourage and coach the team to do the sameEnsure safe standard operating procedures are in place and updated where necessary, and all volunteers adhere to them
This is a permanent part-time position, 30.4 hours per week, based in Horsham, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with General Retail Industry Award 2010 - Level 6.
What You Will Have
Experience in customer service Experience in managing a team preferably volunteers Experience working in Retail (highly desirable)Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation ArmyCompassion and professionalism in all actions and ethicsExtraordinary service to customersFirst Aid certificate or willingness to obtainPhysical ability to safely stand, sit, walk regularly and for long periods of time, push, pull, lift, carry & restrain, climb laddersUse a computer mouse and EFTPOS machine / undertake other inherent requirements of the roleA current drivers licence and working with children check
