Role Description
We are seeking a hands-on and highly organised Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our small but busy warehouse.
This role is responsible for leading the warehouse team, maintaining accurate inventory control, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all warehouse processes run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in operational performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
Allocate daily workloads and manage workflow to meet dispatch and receiving deadlines
Ensure team members follow all operational procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards
Provide backup support across warehouse functions, as required
2. Inventory Management
Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of all goods
Accurately process inward freight, including shipments from international suppliers
Coordinate with freight forwarders and overseas suppliers regarding deliveries
Maintain accurate stock records across inventory systems (e.g. Datapel, Xero, Wix)
Conduct regular stocktakes, investigate discrepancies, and process stock adjustments
Manage customer returns, assess stock condition, update inventory, and communicate outcomes
Monitor inventory levels against established targets (min/max, safety stock) and identify potential stock-outs or excess inventory.
Maintain and document product quality samples
Process and track purchase orders (POs) for new stock, ensuring timely delivery from suppliers.
Organise and manage all incoming and outgoing deliveries
Liaise with freight companies, drivers, local carriers, and suppliers
Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics providers for inbound shipments, including documentation and customs clearance where applicable.
Monitor B2C deliveries and follow up on delays or delivery issues
Work with carriers to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
4. Process, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure warehouse operations comply with company policies and relevant legal requirements
Maintain accurate documentation including inventory logs and receiving paperwork
Review, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to improve accuracy, productivity, and service levels
5. Quality Control & Safety
Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or inaccuracies
Ensure warehouse, receiving, and dispatch areas are clean, safe, and well organised
Report quality or safety issues and follow through to resolution
6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track and report on key performance indicators including:
Order accuracy
Staff productivity
Provide regular operational updates and reports to the Managing Director
Skills, Experience & Requirements
Proven experience in warehouse operations, supervision, or logistics
Strong inventory management and organisational skills
Experience using inventory or ERP systems (e.g. Datapel, Xero, Wix or similar)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work on your feet and perform manual handling tasks (standing, bending, lifting)
A proactive, hands-on approach with attention to detail
