We're seeking a new site-based Construction Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of high voltage substation projects, supplying Data Centres. This role manages all on‐site construction and contractor activities. The Construction Manager upholds the integrity of operations by enforcing compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all works.
Key responsibilities include planning, leading and coordinating all site-based construction activities across civil, structural, and electrical scopes, including HV plant installation and associated infrastructure; managing and directing multiple field teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure efficient execution of works; and ensuring effective sequencing and coordination of activities to meet programme milestones and construction objectives.
This role acts as the primary on‐site point of contact for all construction-related matters; working closely with the project management team to enable successful delivery.
Your responsibilities will includeThe ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional with a strong background in delivering complex infrastructure projects, preferably within High Voltage Substation environments. They demonstrate sound judgement, and the ability to manage risk, schedule, field teams, and stakeholders effectively. With a strong focus on health, safety and environmental performance, they consistently promote safe work practices and compliance. They are an effective communicator, capable of influencing and engaging diverse teams; while articulating issues clearly to the project management team. A natural leader, they mentor others, drive accountability, and support continuous improvement of site‐based activity.
