As an On-Road Motor Assessor, you’ll be out inspecting damaged vehicles and making the call on repair or total loss. Instead of doing the repair yourself, you’ll assess the damage, scope it properly and approve the work. You’ll start with structured training at HQ to get across our policies and repair model, travel covered. Then you’ll shadow experienced Assessors in your state before stepping into your own region and managing your own diary. From there, it’s about backing your judgement, applying motor industry standards properly and making fair calls that stand up to scrutiny. What you’ll be doing Full-time hybrid role with office located in Balwyn Inspect damaged vehicles and validate claims Scope repairs and review repairer estimates Authorise fair, evidence-based repair outcomes Identify discrepancies or potential fraud indicators Apply policy and assess liability considerations Manage customer expectations professionally Manage your diary and turnaround times Work closely with service providers to ensure quality repairs Maintain thorough documentation and compliance standards What you’ll have A trade qualification in Panel Beating or Spray Painting (essential) Bonus points if you’ve worked in estimating or assessing or with watercraft or specialty vehicles Current Drivers Licence What great looks like Stay steady when a customer is frustrated and still explain your decision clearly.
