About the Role
The Senior Project Officer in Government Relations and Advocacy supports the agency's Commissioners, senior executives, and the broader organization in their engagement with government, Parliament, policy departments, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative support: Undertake forward planning and support the tracking and planning of key team priorities.
2. Communications and engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare for Board and Committee presentations, briefings for senior officials, and assist in producing speeches, submissions, and publications.
3. Workforce capability: Support team development through process reviews, knowledge management, and induction programs.
4. Leadership: Supervise and support junior staff within the team and organization.
5. Events coordination: Prepare for stakeholder meetings and events throughout the year.
About You
To succeed, you will have:
* Experience in administration, regulation, projects, communications, or related fields.
* Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize demanding workloads.
* Strong interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
* Excellent communication skills to convey complex issues clearly across various mediums.
* Research and analytical skills to develop solutions and strategic recommendations.
* Understanding of the ACCC's role, current issues in Competition and Consumer Law, and policy development.
* Experience supervising and supporting junior staff.
* A positive attitude and team-oriented approach, with flexibility across tasks and workstreams.
