**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of professional service across Australia. You will be required to lead a group of 40+ professionals in delivery of maritime warfare and navigation training for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). As the key representative for contracted training service you will have regular stakeholder meetings with Defence and APS staff. The role is required to stand in for the Contract Manager during period of absence.
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee and direct the delivery of contracted training services within Australia.
- Lead initiatives to expand training services nationally.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities for training delivery within Australia.
- Manage direct reports for Training Managers and Leads.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and their continual improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to and champion the ADF & Serco value system.
- Provide mentoring and guidance the Training Team supporting Succession Planning and early identification of those individuals whom display the skill-sets, competency and experience required of their respective positions.
- Foster a collaborative partnering relationship with the RAN.
- Perform Key Responsibilities of the Senior Maritime Warfare Instructor.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Must be an Australian Citizen and currently hold or can obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
- Experience as a Navigator or Principal Warfare Officer in Royal Navy, Royal Australian Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy or Royal Canadian Navy.
- Knowledge of Defence training management processes and systems.
- Proven success in leadership and personnel management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- High level of ability to use the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to produce high quality work within tight timeframes.
**Desirable Requirements**:
- Experience within Defence Industry, preferably as a Royal Australian Navy supplier.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher.
- Knowledge of current best practices within training and education.
- Understanding of ADF contractual agreements and processes.
