About the Role
This role is for an individual who wants to make a positive difference in the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
As a Habilitation Counselor, you will work with dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.
You will be responsible for helping individuals to maximize their independence and reach their human potential. This includes actively participating in the development and implementation of individualized goals/treatment plans, completing progress assessments, and reporting out behavior data.
Additional responsibilities include conferring with individuals to discuss their options and goals, facilitating monthly communication with families/guardians, and providing a safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a related field, previous experience working with individuals with psychological, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders, and strong communication skills.
Skills and Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals with psychological, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Proficient communication skills. Proficient computer skills (Proficient in Outlook, SharePoint, EHR, Microsoft Office). Valid driver's license must be maintained.
