About The Role
As the Head of Department (Curriculum), you will lead the curriculum focus in alignment with school and departmental initiatives, ensuring consistency and quality across programs. You will contribute to delivering the vision of the State Schools Division by supporting strategic goals and priorities. A key part of your role will be to develop the quality of teaching and learning through evidence-based practices and collaborative leadership. Additionally, you will foster and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and stakeholders to support a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
* Be future-oriented and strategic.
* Understand the legislation and policies that impact schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
* Manage the human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
