**The Role**
The Head of Risk will be responsible for leading the establishment and implementation of a framework for managing critical risks to strategy and business. The scope includes all risk types including strategic, financial, compliance, commercial and operational.
In order to be successful in this role, the Head of Risk Management will:
- Work closely with both leadership and the Board to ensure that critical risks and compliance obligations are identified, reported, understood and being managed within acceptable limits.
- Ensure risk management activities are aligned with strategic priorities, value drivers and key areas of risk.
- Identify opportunities for value protection and value enhancement which improve the business.
- Design, implement and provide governance of a fit-for-purpose Risk Management Framework (RMF) that establishes clear responsibilities for managing risk across the business while further solidifying how risk supports the business in achieving its strategic and operational objectives.
- Review of the Board Audit & Risk Committee Charter and other related policy documents to support the operation of the RMF and compliance framework.
- Design, implement and provide governance across the risk management processes required to support the operation of the RMF including risk assessment, response and reporting.
- Maintain a risk culture and program for leadership and employees to further support the RMF.
- Provide technical expertise, support and enablement for employees who carry risk management accountabilities.
- Proactively influence and consider risk in key business decisions including significant investment decisions.
- 8+ years' experience in a relevant risk management, assurance or advisory capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building fit-for-purpose risk management and compliance frameworks and operating models.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing others to achieve outcomes.
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Preferred experience in retail and/or FMCG sector or relevant professional services organisation.
