APS5 Policy Officer
We are recruiting on behalf of a
well-regarded government department
for a policy role at the APS5 level.
Clearance:
Preference for candidates with a current and active AGSVA baseline or higher clearance.
Employment type and length:
Preference for non-ongoing candidates, however labour hire candidates will also be considered.

Location:
Flexible working arrangements supported. Candidates can work remotely from one of the department's
many offices across Australia
, in a hybrid capacity (mix of office and home-based work).
Are you motivated to shape policy that makes a real difference in regional communities? We are seeking an experienced APS5 Policy Officer to join our client's team, working on cross-government policy issues that directly impact regional Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to evidence-based policy development, support Cabinet processes and collaborate with stakeholders across government.
Key duties include:
Develop strategic policy advice on opportunities and challenges facing regional Australia.
Analyse and inform best practice approaches to regional policy development using research, local insights and a strong evidence base.
Support whole-of-government decision-making to ensure regional impacts are considered including through Cabinet submission processes.
Provide secretariat support for senior executive forums and meetings.
Prepare briefing materials, issues papers and policy documents for the Executive and Ministers.
Build strong and constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the department.
About you:
Experienced APS5 with excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Motivated to work on cross-government and cross-portfolio issues in a fast-paced environment.
