Compliance, Global Advisory and Markets, Equities, Analyst, Sydney
Goldman Sachs Group is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm headquartered in New York, with offices worldwide including Sydney. The role is based in Sydney and focuses on compliance support for the Equities business within the Global Advisory and Markets – Public team.
Responsibilities
* Primary coverage of Equities sales and trading business operations, new product launches, and market initiatives.
* Articulate and maintain the standards of conduct required by laws, regulations, and internal policies to avoid regulatory/legal liability and reputational risk.
* Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and implement compliance programs accordingly.
* Formulate appropriate policies, training, testing, and monitoring and provide advisory to the business.
* Devise and implement strategic solutions with senior compliance management and other control side departments.
* Support handling of regulatory and internal investigations/audits and, when necessary, escalated significant or unresolved issues to senior compliance management and the business units.
* Conduct regular compliance training for business unit professionals and supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
* 1+ years of experience in compliance, legal, audit or another control function.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise judgment and manage execution under pressure.
* Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
* Good interpersonal skills and excellent written communication skills.
* Ability to work with a variety of senior and junior people and build strong working relationships.
* Highest attention to detail.
* Strong problem‐solving skills with ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
