Information Management Advisor – Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business
Location: Brisbane Inner City, Australia
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain information and records management policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with the Public Records Act 2023 and Information Privacy Act 2009, while monitoring and reporting on organisational adherence.
* Oversee the organisation's electronic document and records management systems (eDRMS) to ensure the security, accessibility, and integrity of information assets, including regular audits and system updates.
* Deliver training and support to staff on information management practices and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as Queensland State Archives, to align with records management obligations.
* Review and assess information management processes to identify opportunities for innovation, prepare written correspondence (e.g., reports and briefing notes) and provide recommendations to enhance organisational capability and compliance.
Qualifications
* Demonstrate expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining information and records management policies, procedures and systems, with a strong understanding of legislative requirements such as the Public Records Act 2023 and Information Privacy Act 2009.
* Effectively manage organisational information assets using electronic document and records management systems (eDRMS) and prepare high-quality written materials, including reports, briefing notes and recommendations, to support decision-making and ensure compliance with governance standards.
* Evaluate and improve information management practices by identifying risks, recommending enhancements, and staying informed about emerging trends and best practices in the field.
* Provide training and support to staff on information management systems and policies, while fostering strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Queensland State Archives, to promote consistent practices and build productive relationships.
