Join SAHealth's Specialist Emergency Department Service Community team as a SeniorMental Health Clinician, where you'll provide expert assessment andintervention for individuals experiencing mental health crises in Adelaide'ssouthern metropolitan region. About therole:
Reportingto the Team Manager, this role is responsible for providingcare toclients across South Australia suffering from eating disorders includingAnorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Other Specified Feeding or eatingdisorders. The SEDS provides care through consultation liaison; evidence-basedcare and integrated research. Components of the SEDS include a ConsultationLiaison Service, a Day Program and an inpatient program. Employees have accessto a comprehensive suite of training and supervision.
Duties forthe role will include:
* Undertaking a clinical case loadand providing individual support to clients with a diagnosed eatingdisorder,
* Undertaking assessments andplanning recovery focussed services for individual clients, includingbio-psycho-social assessment and mental state examination, including riskassessment of all clients referred to the service,
* Offering specialist, evidencebased, group or individual programs according to own knowledge base andindividual skill, as determined by service/team requirements,
* Providing consultation andassistance to Community Mental health Teams and CAMHS to meet the mentalhealth care needs of the client group,
* Coordinating, participating in,initiating and implementing programs, methodologies, projects andassignments as negotiated with the team and other appropriate seniorstaff,
* Providing clinical leadership tothe team to incorporate recovery focussed psychosocial and contemporaryapproaches / models into practice,
* Supporting the Team Manager andConsultant Psychiatrist to develop and implement workflow processes,quality assurance processes and ensure optimal work outcomes
About you:
* Appropriate degree or equivalentqualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) andgeneral registration with the PsyBA with an endorsed area of practice inClinical Psychology, Hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at alllevels of supervision.
* Advanced skills in undertaking acomprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, including mental state and riskassessments of clients presenting with high or complex needs,
* Advanced skills in individualisedcare planning and coordinating comprehensive service provision and crisisintervention with people who have high or complex needs,
* High level of competence in theprovision of a range of discipline specific assessments, evidence-basedtherapeutic interventions and skills including individual and group work,
* Skills in psychosocialrehabilitation practices and recovery practices,
* At least 3 years postregistration experience in mental health,
* Experience in a senior clinicalrole within a mental health setting
* Experience in deliveringevidenced based treatment for those experiencing an eating disorder.
