Urban Planning Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planning Expert to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
The successful applicant will contribute to business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning. As an Urban Planning Expert, you will have the opportunity to work independently on projects while also contributing to multi-disciplinary teams.
Our team works on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales. Day-to-day tasks may involve:
* Demonstrating proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing, with comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
* Acting as project manager for planning, programming, and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
* Developing project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects, including identification of business resource requirements.
* Managing or assisting with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
* Undertaking technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
* Leading and assisting with the preparation of tender documentation.
* Fostering client relationships and identifying business opportunities.
* Growing, developing, and mentoring junior staff.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
* Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
* Self-motivated and self-directed.
* Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
* Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
* Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
