About the Role
Bowen Rail Company is growing, and we have an exciting new opportunity for a Track Inspection Officer to join our Network Track and Civil team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor – Inspections, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of compliant, efficient, and timely inspections of track infrastructure on the Carmichael Rail Network.

* Promote and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, codes and procedures ensuring that work groups and rail safety workers are provided with inductions and adequate training
* Undertake track and related asset inspections as required by the Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP), safely and to a high standard
* Capture and record the condition of various track and related assets on the network
* Ensure the safety and integrity of the rail network by sustaining the condition of the track infrastructure
* Identify and manage defects and complete corrective works as directed by the supervisor
* Develop core skills including in rail infrastructure maintenance
* Scope repairs based on inspection outcomes for maintenance teams to execute
* Coordinate with planning and asset teams on timely submission of data into management systems
* Administer information following processes with accurate and timely submission of information as requested
* Coordinate in-field activities such as deliveries and prestart briefings
* Coordinate in-field depot activities including stores and supplies
* Provide input into the 2,4-,8- and 12-week plans
* Liaise with maintenance stakeholders and escalate any issues
* Conduct quality inspections at critical phases and report any non-conformances.

Essential
* National competencies and previous experience in rail maintenance/construction or related industry
* SARC - Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited) – or ability to obtain
* General Construction Induction – or ability to obtain
* Current Open 'C' Class Drivers Licence
* Ability to read and interpret maintenance documents including, blueprints and drawings
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise deadlines
* Effective time management and problem-solving skills
* Experience with coordinating site works across multiple locations
* Team oriented, accountable and results driven
Desirable
* Qualifications in a related rail discipline. (i.e. Certificate II/III in Rail Infrastructure)
* Qualified as a rail Protection Officer (PO)
