Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist (NDIS & Medicare)

EduCare and Mind-Care are multidisciplinary healthcare services providing Psychiatry, Psychology, Neurology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Support, and Allied Health services across Medicare, NDIS, private, and third-party funding models.
We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on an initial 12-week contract, focused on reducing aged debtors, improving billing workflows, and strengthening accounts receivable systems across the organisation.
There is strong potential for ongoing work beyond the initial contract period for the right candidate.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in medical and NDIS billing who enjoys problem-solving, improving systems, and working independently within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing and reconciling outstanding accounts (30/60/90+ days)
* Following up on unpaid invoices with clients, NDIS plan managers, and third-party providers
* Reconciling Medicare claims and identifying rejected claims
* Reviewing NDIS billing processes and claim submissions
* Supporting improvements to accounts receivable systems and workflows
* Assisting with process documentation and staff support where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 3+ years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable
* Demonstrated experience with NDIS billing processes
* Familiarity with Medicare claiming and reconciliation
* Experience working within medical, allied health, or disability services
* Strong communication and debt recovery follow-up skills
* Confidence working with practice management and billing software
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach
