Culinary Expert Required
Our esteemed organization seeks a skilled and experienced Cook to join our culinary team. This is a full-time role that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our discerning clientele.
The Role
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from our menu, using different methods such as pan-frying, deep-frying, steaming, boiling, and roasting.
* Portion food, place it on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
* Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
* Report any maintenance issues to management.
* Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
* Order raw materials from suppliers as needed.
* Review menus with the head chef and contribute to seasonal changes.
* Follow and maintain all OH&S requirements for safe kitchen operations.
* Clean and maintain work areas and kitchen equipment.
* Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
* Assist with ordering supplies.
* Cook menu items in collaboration with other kitchen staff.
* Assist in developing menus in consultation with the chef and restaurant manager.
Requirements
* Hold a Certificate IV qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent.
* Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Have at least 2 years' experience cooking on the grill.
* Have experience preparing meals catering to various dietary restrictions.
* Be able to cook different proteins, including seafood, beef, lamb, and pork.
* Have a passion for great food and presentation.
* Understand and commit to food safety principles.
* Have experience in kitchen operations and managing teams.
