Role
A classroom teacher is responsible for planning, preparing and delivering high‐quality instruction for Year 7‐12 students, supporting school initiatives, and contributing to curriculum development within the relevant range (Range 1 or Range 2). Teachers foster an inclusive learning environment and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice.
Responsibilities
* Deliver direct teaching to student groups and individual students.
* Develop, implement and evaluate curriculum or curriculum components.
* Undertake additional classroom teaching duties as directed by the School Principal.
* Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, excursions and other school activities.
* Carry out supervisory or non‐teaching duties as required.
Selection Criteria
* SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including integration of literacy and numeracy, and responsiveness to student learning needs.
* SC2 Experience planning and implementing high‐impact teaching strategies, assessing their effectiveness and influencing student learning growth.
* SC3 Demonstrated monitoring and assessment of student learning, data‐driven instructional decisions and feedback to students and parents.
* SC4 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
* SC5 Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting on practice and engaging in ongoing professional learning.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and qualified to teach the specified curriculum area(s).

Qualification Requirements
* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* If completed an Australian postgraduate initial teacher program on or after 1 January 2024, demonstration of successful completion of a postgraduate accredited initial teacher education program.
* If graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, demonstration of passing the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE).
