Job Overview
Based in Ballarat, our client is a growing organsiation and a market leader in their industry. Seeking a Finance Manager for 3 - 6 months (potential for permanancy) to start ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Managing the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Produce timely and accurate financial statements for the board pack and associated departments reports
* Property and lease accounting activities in line with AASB16
* Oversight of fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, disposals and maintaining the fixed asset register
* Reviewing work of junior staff and providing technical guidance where needed
* Review & oversight of GRNI & PPV accounts.
* Review the monthly Balance sheet, account, and sub-ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances as required
* Assist in year-end close
* Assist with rolling cashflow forecast
* Monitor project budgets v actual costs to variances and investigate cost drivers.
* Assisting with cost review and business partnering for operational departments
* Calculate monthly BAS lodgements
* Exposure to fuel tax credits would be advantageous
* Assist with providing accurate and timely information to support the annual and special purpose audits, in line with audit plans and schedules
Requirements
* CA or CPA (will consider working towards with strong experience)
* 7+ Years experience in accounting
* Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles (working knowledge of AASB16 and advantage
* Experience in Pronto
* Advanced Excel skills including lookups and Pivot tables
* Experience in EOY close
* Excellent attention to detail
Experience in Mining, Civil, Construction or FMCG environments would be beneficial.
