The role of a Security Engineer is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our technological systems. This involves working closely with the Cyber Security Operations function, collaborating with various teams to address security queries, maintaining Security Dashboards, and reporting processes for management purposes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting proactive monitoring and reactive support of systems security-related activities, including documentation of security processes to support the Technology Team.
* Monitoring security administration processes and security access through assessing metrics and data to identify unauthorized activity and prevent breaches.
* Performing security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis to minimize the risk of security breaches.
* Investigating security breaches and other security-related incidents to identify root causes and ensuring system changes are identified and assessed while escalating potential breaches to senior management.
* Maintaining and updating Internal Cybersecurity systems, including security platforms, firewalls, and associated systems, as well as documentation and policies required for compliance.
* Establishing and operating security tools to monitor progress, take corrective action, and produce reports as required by senior management.
This role also requires input into the risk management programme, ensuring that Information technology systems Disaster Recovery plans include elements linked to cybersecurity.
