Overview of the Position:

The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all transport operations on site, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of personnel and assets. This role includes supervising drivers, managing vehicles, and maintaining compliance with safety, operational, and client requirements. The supervisor will take a lead role in coordinating and running transport services during mining shutdowns, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.

•Experience in FIFO/mine site transport or shutdowns (preferred)


•HR/MR Licence & PTD Authorisation


•Senior First Aid Certificate


•Safety-focused, organised, and adaptable.

Transport Operations:


•Supervise bus drivers/operators to ensure compliance with schedules and journey plans.


•Prepare run schedules and assign daily tasks.


•Conduct daily driver BAC testing, pre-start meetings, and fitness-for-work checks.


•Perform bus driving duties when required to prevent service interruptions.


•Maintain buses in a safe, clean, and operational condition.


•Keep accurate records and prepare reports, including journey management and vehicle servicing.

Safety and Health:


•Follow safety, quality, HR, and environmental policies.


•Role model high safety standards and ensure staff compliance.


•Monitor safety performance, document incidents, and address non-conformance.


•Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings; participate in hazard identification programs.


•Ensure proper handover between teams with safety and health information communicated.

People Management:


•Communicate respectfully with staff, colleagues, management, and stakeholders.


•Ensure staff are trained, inducted, and rostered appropriately.


•Supervise performance, conduct reviews, and manage leave/backfills.

Shutdown transport coordination:


•Lead and manage end-to-end transport operations during mining shutdowns.


•Oversee daily schedules, resource allocation, and the deployment of personnel and assets.


•Ensure smooth execution of shutdown transport services, addressing any issues promptly.


•Attend key shutdown meetings to support delivery and maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

Client and stakeholder engagement:


•Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.


•Act as the primary point of contact for transport-related queries during shutdowns and daily operations.


•Provide timely updates, reports, and feedback to clients to ensure expectations are met.


•Collaborate with site teams and other departments to align operational plans with client requirements.

Other responsibilities:


•Maintain own time and attendance.


•Undertake relevant training and inductions.


•Perform other duties as required.


•Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and contractors.

Desirable:


•Fire extinguisher Certificate


•Qualification to operate a Coach Bus or equivalent
