Technical Architect – Full Stack (Java/Spring Boot, React & AWS)

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot microservices, ReactJS, and AWS cloud services. You'll play a key role in defining end-to-end architecture, driving best practices, and mentoring technical teams to deliver robust, distributed applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Define end-to-end architecture for full stack applications using Spring Boot microservices, ReactJS, and AWS.
Ensure modularity, scalability, and performance optimisation across all layers.
Champion best practices in microservices design, including service decomposition, API gateway integration, and fault tolerance.
Actively code and review complex modules in Java/Spring Boot, ReactJS, and AWS integrations.
Implement and maintain distributed microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native patterns.
Ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end services.
Architect and deploy microservices leveraging AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, IAM).
Optimize cloud resource usage and ensure high availability and resilience.
Drive CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation using Terraform/CloudFormation.
Promote observability and monitoring across microservices.
Guide technical teams, enforce engineering standards, and conduct architecture reviews.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Required Experience:
Minimum 10+ years in full stack development, with at least 3–5 years in an architect or senior architect role.
Expert-level proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful API development.
Proven experience designing and deploying distributed microservices, including service orchestration, API security, and inter-service communication.
Advanced AWS expertise (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, IAM).
Experience with DevOps tools: CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation.
Database expertise: SQL and NoSQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
Familiarity with testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, and automated testing strategies.
Hands-on experience in Spring Boot microservices, cloud-native application design, enterprise-scale deployments, and legacy modernisation.

This is a contract role based in Melbourne, with a duration of 6 months and immediate start available. You'll play a key role in delivering robust, secure, and innovative full stack solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment. The daily rate for this role is ******* AUD.
