GPC is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our People team in a pivotal, senior HR business partner capacity. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic HR leadership, partner with leaders across the organisation, and drive contemporary, end to end HR solutions in a complex and dynamic environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager HR Operations, this role provides strategic HR leadership across a diverse portfolio. You will partner closely with leaders to shape workforce capability, uplift culture and strengthen organisational performance.
You will lead initiatives that enhance organisational performance, build leader capability, and embed high standards of governance across all HR practices. Operating within a business partnering model, you will also lead and develop a team of HR Advisors, ensuring they are supporting with strong technical coaching, frameworks and guidance.
This is a high-impact role involving complex employee matters, senior level consultation and continuous improvement of HR systems, processes and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a strategic HR partner to senior leaders, driving organisational effectiveness, high performance, and accountability
Provide expert advice on a wide range of complex employee matters
Lead grievance, disciplinary, and performance management processes with professionalism, confidence and credibility
Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR governance, policies, systems, and HRIS
Lead, coach and develop HR Advisors to uplift technical capability, strengthen decision‑making, and ensure robust compliance and governance.
Deliver a modern HR advisory function, including interpretation of Enterprise Agreements, legislation, and policy
Analyse HR metrics, provide insights, and contribute to audit and compliance activities
Build strong relationships with unions, external consultants, and internal stakeholders
Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives that drive organisational change and business improvement
What You Will Bring
Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline
Extensive experience delivering end-to-end HR services in a complex, industrial, or operational environment
Proven track record managing complex employee relations matters, and achieving practical, risk-aware outcomes
Strong capability interpreting and applying employment legislation and industrial instruments
Well developed influencing and coaching skills, with the ability to support leaders at all levels
A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into practical HR, contemporary solutions
Experience leading HR change initiatives or continuous improvement projects (desirable)
A commitment to safety, integrity, high performance and strong governance
