**About the role**
The Trustee for the Dalrymple Unit Trust t/a Merivale Farms require a full-time Electrical Engineering Technician to directly support our piggery farm sites/units based in regional Queensland. The position will be based out of Merivale Farms in Cooranga, QLD 4408.
Our farms depend on functional and reliable electrical engineering control systems at all times to ensure farms are operational, safe, and in service at all times - 24/7 and 365 days per year to support positive animal welfare outcomes, optimal environmental conditions and sustained and efficient production.
**Responsibilities, tasks, and duties include**:
- Installation, modification, maintenance & repair of electrical engineering and maintenance systems;
- Read technical diagrams & blueprints and troubleshooting electrical engineering control systems throughout our piggery farm sites/units;
- Undertake checking, maintenance and repair of electrical engineering systems and equipment located in piggery farm units with a focus on water supply/drippers, feed systems (electrical sow feeder system) and electrical environmental control systems;
- Ensure electrical engineering and instrument/control systems and equipment located in piggery farm unit's 100% uptime is achieved by effective and efficient preventative maintenance;
- Liaise with Piggery Unit Manager on planned upgrades and electrical engineering maintenance schedules;
- Complete reactive and breakdown electrical engineering maintenance when required;
- Examining and testing electrical engineering systems, equipment, instruments, and control systems to troubleshoot and diagnose faults;
- Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn/defective parts and maintaining control systems, equipment, and instruments;
- Conduct and record electrical engineering product tests and diagnostic activities to support piggery environmental controls and the production process;
- Installing, upgrading, modifying, and calibrating electrical engineering and instrument/control systems;
- Maintain a high level of quality control in accordance with the quality assurance standards; with a focus on continual improvement of all electrical engineering instrument/control systems;
- Ensure any non-compliances that may affect the safety and integrity of electrical engineering instrument/control systems are reported;
- Implement and undertake coordination of electrical engineering instrument/control systems and equipment works programs for sites;
- Ensure all new or reconditioned replacement parts, systems and equipment meet quality standards;
- Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications and regulations;
- Undertake electrical engineering instrument/control systems workshop functions such as refurbishment and reconditioning of parts, repairs, PLC controls and equipment;
- Assist with the identification of any problems and non-conformities and process, providing cost effective business solutions.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum bachelor's degree level qualification in electrical or electronics control systems or related area;
- Minimum 3 years relevant and related work experience with electrical engineering and control systems;
- Demonstrated safety leadership in the past and will strive to maintain a safe and healthy workplace;
- Experience working in a farming environment, with exposure in intensive animal production an advantage;
- Demonstrated expertise in the hands-on delivery of both scheduled and emergency maintenance;
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel an advantage;
- Capability to assist with and develop yearly budget planning including shed and equipment upgrades.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
