The Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate and reliable Disability Support Workers who enjoy working shifts to provide exceptional care to our clients. This role is ideal for those who are empathetic, adaptable, and ready to learn. Previous experience in disability support is preferred—we're looking for individuals with the skills, heart and drive to make a difference
Responsibilities:
* Engage daily and meet the individual's needs following set guidelines
* Support clients with mobility and physical transfers using safe manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment (e.g., hoists, slide sheets, wheelchairs)
* Provide support to clients with high support needs, including those who may display behavioral challenge
* Provide emotional support in accordance with established protocols
* Assist with daily household chores and skill-building activities
* Support in workplace and community integration
* Tailor communication to suit individual interests and needs
* Assist in caring for a pet/assistance dog
* Aid in cleaning and meal preparation
* Maintain written reports and data collection
* Attend meetings and training sessions
Requirements:
* Valid WWVP/Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
* Access to a vehicle with valid insurance for travel to various locations
* Happy to work 2:1
* Comfortable with personal care
* Travel for work 30 minutes is expected
* Willing to learn and upskill, take initiatives, give feedback & voice concerns
Ideal requirements:
* Certificate IV in Disability or Mental Health
* Certificate III in Disability
* A swimmer or happy to be in the water with participants
