The Role:
A highly skilled Oracle Database Developer / Data Engineer with a robust background in designing, implementing, and managing complex database solutions. This professional brings a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, combined with a proven track record of leveraging Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to deliver high-quality data integration, ETL processes, and business intelligence insights. With a keen eye for innovation and efficiency, they are adept at deploying cloud-based data solutions across leading platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Azure ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Through effective collaboration and communication, they bridge technical and business domains to deliver data-driven solutions that meet strategic objectives and operational needs.
Primary Duties:
* Database Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain robust database systems, including schema design, stored procedures, queries, and scripts for data manipulation and retrieval. Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of database systems.
* Data Integration and ETL Processes: Utilize Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and efficient architecture. Optimize data flows to improve performance and reliability.
* Business Intelligence and Reporting: Support the development of reporting and analytics solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insightful, actionable reports.
* Cloud Data Management: Leverage cloud technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Azure is desirable. Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
* Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Solutions Architect and other team members to support the development and implementation of database routines and data strategies. Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve program outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
1. Background as an Oracle Developer / Oracle Data Engineer Strong proficiency in Oracle database technologies, SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Developer, with a solid track record of developing, optimizing, and managing complex Oracle database systems, including extensive experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and implementing advanced features of Oracle 11g and 19c
2. Cloud Technologies Experience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI and Azure Platform). Knowledge of cloud-based data warehousing, ETL, and analytics services is highly desirable.
3. Data Modelling Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
4. Analytical Skills Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is a plus.
5. Problem-Solving Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Must be able to provide efficient and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
6. Communication Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Location and Contract Term: This role is Canberra based. On site minimum of 3 days per week. Initial 6 month contract with 3 x 1 month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a baseline security clearance.
