The Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (Wurundjeri Corporation) is a Registered Aboriginal Party appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal intangible heritage on Wurundjeri Country. Additional functions of the Corporation include, environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, research and cultural consultations.
Full-time, 2-year fixed term – Abbotsford head office with flexible work arrangements.
About the Role
The Liaison Officer at Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation is a new full-time role that will be responsible for providing effective engagement between the Corporation and local government councils that are located on Wurundjeri land, by being a primary point of contact for key stakeholders. As part of this role, you will: Work with partners and stakeholders to ensure the Wurundjeri Community’s voice is heard and understood; Coordinate input from Elders, the Wurundjeri Community and relevant experts on policy and legislative reform matters; Prepare submissions and presentation to government and other organisations on strategy, policy and legislative reform matters; and identify funding opportunities to support project work with partners and stakeholders on Wurundjeri Corporations priorities.
About You
* Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of professional experience.
* Contribute to a team environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships and a high-performance culture.
* High level of engagement and alignment to the mission and priorities of the Wurundjeri Corporation both internal and external.
* Experience working in a relationship management role.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience working for a not-for-profit organisation or working with First Nations Peoples.
