About the Role
BytePlus is a new business unit dedicated to delivering AI, video and cloud technology solutions to enterprise customers. As our first sales hire in Australia you will help build our ANZ presence, bring ByteDance's cutting‐edge AI, video, and infrastructure technologies to businesses across ecommerce, retail and media sectors, and accelerate your career in a high‐growth environment.
Responsibilities
* Generate and close new business across enterprise and digital‐native SME accounts in ecommerce, retail and media sectors, executing full‐cycle sales from prospecting through contract closure.
* Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals and marketing partnership to hit quarterly and annual targets.
* Understand customer pain points and position BytePlus's AI/ML, recommendation, streaming and infrastructure solutions as strategic enablers through compelling demonstrations and business‐case presentations.
* Navigating multiple decision‐makers to drive deals forward with urgency, developing fluency in cloud‐based solutions and intelligent technologies for credible customer conversations.
* Build working knowledge of the ANZ ecommerce, retail and media landscapes— including competitive dynamics, customer challenges and buying behaviours.
* Partner with marketing on events, webinars and conferences to build market awareness and generate leads.
* Work collaboratively as a founding team member with entrepreneurial energy, ready to tackle challenges beyond core sales responsibilities and contribute to refining our ANZ GTM approach.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 3+ years of B2B sales experience in technology, SaaS or digital solutions with consistent quota achievement.
* Direct sales experience hunting new accounts (not account management or renewals focused).
* Results‐oriented mindset with a track record of closing deals and driving revenue.
* Strong understanding or eagerness to learn cloud‐based, AI/ML or intelligent technology solutions.
* Excellent communication skills—able to engage both technical and business audiences.
* Self‐starter comfortable in ambiguous, fast‐paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience selling to ecommerce, retail, media or digital‐native businesses in Australia.
* Familiarity with AI, recommendation engines, video streaming or cloud infrastructure technologies.
* Existing network within the Australian digital/tech ecosystem.
* Experience in startup or high‐growth technology companies.
* Passion for innovation and emerging technologies.
