Our client is seeking a skilled and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable regional business and gain hands‐on experience across a diverse fleet of vehicles and machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct diagnostic testing and identify mechanical issues
* Analyse results and carry out effective repairs
* Repair and replace diesel engines, transmissions, steering, braking, and lighting systems
* Perform preventative maintenance on light fleet, prime movers, and agricultural machinery including cotton pickers
* Test drive vehicles to assess performance
* Maintain accurate records, service logs, and parts inventory
* Ensure compliance with safety systems and workshop standards
Candidate Requirements
* Trade qualifications in Mechanical, Automotive, or Heavy Vehicle Engineering
* Demonstrated experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair
* Strong IT and problem‐solving skills with the ability to self‐diagnose faults
* Physically fit with good attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
* Current and valid driver's license
