We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (PE) with experience managing manufacturing & industrial type design projects to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne or Orlando, FL office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* The Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing assigned projects to meet the customer's program, expectations and the Firm's Mission and Vision. Assignments require independent judgment and application of a non‐routine, complex nature under the supervision of the Director of Project Management. The role involves decision‐making, representation to the customer and project coordination.
* In performing Project Management duties, the Project Manager shall:
o Understand the project scope, goals, and limitations.
o Visualize the customer's goals and limitations.
o Communicate with the customer, assignees, design team, construction administration team, contractors, and all agencies involved to successfully complete a project.
o Develop project scope of work as required.
o Prepare project proposals and contracts in accordance with Firm's policies.
o Plan the project – activities, schedule, milestones, cost projection over timeline.
o Establish the Firm's project budget, communicate and distribute the budget, manage and control the budget, and report status accounting.
o Request staff allocation to fulfill project requirements from both the customer and the Firm.
o Convey expectations to team members.
o Lead and manage the project and the Firm's team (staff and consultants).
o Control and coordinate the project, the team, and the customer to fulfil contractual obligations while maintaining quality, profitability, and customer expectations.
o Practice risk management throughout the project.
o Prepare instructions to bidders, general conditions, supplementary conditions, and Division I of the specifications.
o Motivate and mentor the team with discipline directors.
o Prepare project status reports with cost and profit projections vs actual.
o Maintain project documentation, files, and records.
o Prepare scope of work, obtain proposals, and prepare agreements and purchase orders for required outside items.
o Assist accounting in accurate invoicing and accounts payable.
o Promote customer satisfaction in line with the Firm's mission.
o Deliver or exceed customer expectations in accordance with contractual obligations and the Firm's policies.
o Provide necessary activities and documentation to close out the project.
o Maintain the Firm's project data base.
o Assist in marketing in accordance with the Firm's marketing plan and policies.
o Assure project quality and attend quality control review sessions.
o Supervise the assigned Project Administrator.
o Assist in development and mentoring of Project Manager trainees.
o Promote communication, cooperation and quality among staff.
* May visit construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties such as attending site meetings, reviewing RFIs, preparing ASIs, PRs, and progress reports.
* Duties may include, or assist in, supervising, coordinating and checking the work.
Required Proficiency
* Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project, and Word
* Proactive representation of the firm in a professional manner
* Responsible for project‐specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Systems Manuals
Education and Experience
* Minimum bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction related field from an accredited four‐year college or university.
* Minimum eight (8) years related experience in areas listed under essential duties and responsibilities.
* Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a licensed professional engineer or architect.
