Principal IT Commodity ManagerReq. #22765Job FamilyPP - Purchasing/ProcurementLocationUS-MA-MilfordOverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Waters Global Procurement team! Reporting to the Director, Indirect Procurement, the Principal Information Technology Commodity Manager will be responsible for establishing and translating into action enterprise-wide procurement strategies for the IT category in support of a worldwide leader in the life sciences industry.Experience should include Indirect spend category management, category planning, supplier relationship management, managing strategic sourcing events, leading commercial negotiations, supplier contract management, implementing procurement process improvement, building internal stakeholder partnerships and should possess a working knowledge of industry trends and best practices.The preferred candidate will have background knowledge in the following Indirect spend categories: Information Technology (IT) Hardware, Software, Services, Telecommunications.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the categories and supplier markets, complexities, and has an overall vision of best in class procurement needs and practicesManage and execute contracts across the organization within in-scope spend categoriesCreate negotiation plans with clear desired outcomes and optionsProvide quantifiable and qualifiable analysis of markets, pricing and savingsMaintain and adhere to pertinent policies, processes and systemsPartner with cross functional teams including but not limited to IT, Legal, Finance and OperationsWork with stakeholders to document specific business requirements, and partner to determine the most favorable short- and long-term category strategiesDemonstrate a collaborative approach in delivering favorable business outcomesProficiently manage RFI/RFP/RFQ processesLead Supplier Relationship Management activities with a focus on maximizing value and minimizing risk to the businessConduct strategic business reviews (SBRs)Manage supplier performance measures (KPIs, SLAs, etc.)Proactively create and manage a project pipeline of category activitiesEffectively communicate issues, actions and strategies to leadershipQualificationsBachelor's degree in a related area of Supply Chain, Finance or Business Management preferredRequired Experience: Minimum of five (5) years' experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier managementIndirect Sourcing category experience requiredStrong oral, written and presentation skills requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills requiredExpert understanding of contract principlesCompany DescriptionWaters Corporation (NYSE: WAT), the world's leading specialty measurement company, has pioneered chromatography, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis innovations serving the life, materials, and food sciences for over 60 years.
