The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recognised as a caring charity offering "a hand up" to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.

We are looking for a Volunteer Administrator, who will be responsible for administering one of the most valuable assets for the Society, the volunteer database, while also effectively organising 'onboarding' of volunteers, managing volunteer compliance requirements and coordinating general volunteer support activities to ensure the Society maximises volunteer engagement.

This role has a strong administration component which requires high levels of organisation, attention to detail and self-motivation. In addition, the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of cohorts will be required. As a statewide role, there will be regular engagement with individuals and organisations across each region.

Situated in State Office, reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role will also assist with other general administrative tasks, contributing to the success of the Society more broadly.

This role is offered part-time, 30 hours per week. Some intrastate travel will be required on an ad-hoc basis.

Essential Requirements

* Previous experience in Community Services, Not-for-Profit or Volunteer Coordination would be advantageous.
* Advanced systems and IT skills and knowledge, particularly MS Suite.
* High level of administrative capacity, including the ability to gather and interpret data, manage registers, and systematic data storage.
* Demonstrate a collaborative, supportive and proactive approach to supporting those applying for or renewing compliance requirements ie. National Police Checks and Working with Vulnerable People Cards.
* Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously.
* Exceptional and adaptable communication skills, both orally and in writing.
* Understanding of continuous improvement and risk management, adopting a strategic and contemporary approach to situations and challenges.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Child and Youth Safe Organisational Framework or willingness to obtain.
* Ability to build and foster key stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
* Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of cohorts, displaying empathy and fairness in all interactions.
* Understanding of social injustice and the broad services we offer to the community.
* Commitment to work together with the greater SVDP Tas team in achieving against strategic and operational plans.
* Demonstrated understanding of and alignment with the Vision, Mission and Values of the Society.
